About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Project Manager to join our dedicated Sales team based in the United Kingdom, ideally in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne/Northeast England region.
The Sales Project Manager role is a demanding and highly involved position that requires a blend of project leadership, commercial acumen and technical understanding. You will lead the sales project from initial tender through to contract signature, ensuring timely, competitive and compliant submissions. As the lead negotiator, you will develop and execute strategies that reflect both customer requirements and SGRE’s commercial framework, while being able to engage confidently on complex commercial and technical points. The role requires someone who can dive into the detail, understand the operational, technical and financial aspects of the deal, and then distil these into clear, concise messages for senior management. You will drive the project through internal governance, motivate and support a high-performing team, and closely track progress to ensure on-time delivery.
The breadth of the role spans everything from detailed technical discussions to high-level commercial decision-making, and the reach extends from day-to-day project work through to engagement with senior executives, both internally and externally. This is very much a role for someone who leads from the front and delivers personally.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Own the sales project end-to-end, delivering timely, competitive and compliant tender submissions
- Lead customer negotiations and take full responsibility for concluding customer contracts in a way which meets the customer requirements whilst protecting SGRE’s interests
- Drive the project through SGRE’s sales processes, ensuring full compliance with internal governance
- Lead, support and develop a high-performing sales project team
- Manage and execute day-to-day project activities, tracking progress and ensuring on-time delivery
- Understand the customer’s business case and shape bid and negotiation strategies that are reflected in costing, planning and scope
- Ensure a comprehensive and high-quality handover to Operations following contract signature
What you Bring
You will need a passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.
We are looking for a candidate who has a background in Sales, Project Management or Engineering, with demonstrable professional experience. International project sales experience, preferably in the (wind) energy or construction industry would be beneficial, along with experience of, and responsibility for, complex sales or project management in multicultural teams. Experience working with highly professional customers and multi-contracting on large projects is also desirable.
- Be a collaborative team player with confidence, initiative and a strong customer focus
- Demonstrate strong contractual understanding and proven negotiation skills
- Bring solid leadership capability with the ability to motivate, engage and support your team
- Be willing to travel and work effectively in a global, multicultural environment
- Communicate exceptionally well across functions and with external stakeholders
