Position description

Hyperion Technology Group, Inc., seeks a Computer Scientist to support software development, maintenance, and sustainment supporting technology and products associated with advanced sensor systems and system architectures in a classified government environment. Hyperion Technology Group is a manufacturing-centric research and development company specializing in sensor and power systems, automated machinery, testing equipment, autonomy, and specialized custom systems for various industries, including but not limited to Military systems, Medical and Life Sciences, Automotive, and Industrial systems. Our projects frequently require interfacing with other groups, such as our Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Teams, which may require frequent meetings and online/teleconference collaboration. Our work is very diverse and fast-paced and requires frequent learning of new skill sets and incorporating ideas from disparate domains of technology development. Candidates should have experience developing, maintaining, and sustaining software for a variety of network components, databases, and software applications. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience maintaining software for large-scale computer clusters with cloud-native architectures and conducting software-related activities necessary for security, testing, configuration control, delivery, documentation, packaging, integration, and training. Candidates must be self-motivated, reliable, and customer-service-minded.


Required qualifications

• Three (3) to Five+ (5+) years of related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of certification, education, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job's essential duties, such as those listed above.

• One (1) to Three (3) years of related experience with software management.

• Experience working as a Software Developer or similar role.

• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.

• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks

• Be a person with integrity, honesty, and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Python, JavaScript)

• Knowledge of frameworks/systems (e.g., Kubernetes, AngularJS, Git)

• Ability to learn new languages and technologies

• Skill in current and applicable hardware, software, and peripheral equipment

• Must be willing to receive training and complete Security+ Certification and other required security training as needed.

• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

• Must be team-oriented, able to interact with other engineering disciplines, and work in small teams.

• The ability to successfully work alone in an unsupervised environment.
