The Role
The Infrastructure Lead will report to the Manager of IT Operations and will play a critical role in the ongoing transformation of our IT infrastructure, specifically as we move towards an enterprise shared services model, manage outsourced teams, and lead efforts to migrate portions of our infrastructure to the cloud. This individual will provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our infrastructure while navigating the complexities of these significant changes. Ingalls’ IT services and Infrastructure are outsourced and this position focuses on managing the governance processes and leading resources to ensure quality service is provided within contract parameters and compliance.
The selected delivery lead will be responsible for providing:
- Leadership in infrastructure compliance and execution in supporting governance processes, deployment, and improvement initiatives
- Proactively lead applicable teams through various project and large scale initiatives/implementations with technical transitions to Enterprise wide shared services
- Proactively engage with cross functional teams to provide actionable insights for making process improvements; ensuring overall alignment to the IT strategy
- Design, document and communicate IT processes and controls and identify opportunities for more efficient and effective processes
- Lead contract documentation configuration, changes and negotiations
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for outsourced infrastructure teams.
- Participate in defining technology insertion, solutions and competitive vendor selections
- Understand emerging technologies and how they relate to the Ingalls environment
Must Have
10 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 8 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
Nice to Have
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator. Experience with Government regulations that include, but are not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Personally Identifiable Identification (PII/PPI), DFAR, NIST.
- Direct experience with leading teams.
- Experience in fast placed environment with competing priorities.
- Experience managing Service Delivery governance.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Strong understanding of Cloud infrastructure .
- Experience with contract governance and outsourced teams.
- Strong understanding of networking, server administration, and storage systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V).
