Job Description

Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs). Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents.

Monitors work operations and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required.

Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management: Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.

Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required.

Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules

Basic Qualifications

*Must attach a resume.

*Requires an AA degree plus 5 yrs of shipbuilding or heavy industry experience -or-

*A BS in a technical field and 4 yrs of progressive technical and or Managment experience -or-

*A MS in technical field and professional registration with 2 yrs shipbuilding or heavy industry experience -or-

*A combination of 12 yrs experience in shipbuilding or heavy industry may be considered in lieu of degree.

*Experience in the Cost and Schedule accountability, and the ability to organize priorities to meet major events.

*Must have progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience.

*Demonstrated basic computer skills are required.

*Must be able to read a blueprint.

*Must have ability to enter confined spaces, crawling, bending, climbing ladders and stairs when required.

*Must be able to work any assigned shift.

Preferred Qualifications

*Construction experience in a marine setting is preferred,
