Overview:

The Regional HR Generalist and Recruiter plays an important role in the overall function of the HR Department specializing in recruitment and retention of talent through employee engagement. This position will support the PCR East Region by providing direct support to employees and managers and actively leading in recruitment and on-boarding of team members.

Company Interfaces:

This position reports to the East Region Director of Human Resources and interfaces with Company employees at all levels and locations, as well as candidates, external vendors and agencies on a regular basis. This role will be based within the service region either working remotely from home or at a company location.

General Responsibilities:

  • HR Generalist:
    • Provide ongoing support to managers and employees for personnel issues and concerns which arise in assigned region.
    • Assist employees and managers with tickets in the HR Ticketing system to ensure employee records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensure required locations posters and communications are updated and current.
    • Deliver any required trainings at assigned locations.
    • Assist with employee and incident investigations as directed.
    • Assist managers with disciplinary actions and ongoing management of team, as needed.
    • Travel to terminals for Open Enrollment, Annual Compliance Training, etc.as needed.
    • Assist HR team with tasks, as needed.
  • Recruiting:
    • Serve as primary recruiter for all non-exempt positions for region.
    • Work closely with facility, transport and lab managers to determine hiring needs.
    • Lead company participation in regional recruiting events.
    • Maintain i-Solved/Applicant Pro Recruiting Module for non-exempt and exempt employees.
    • Conduct telephonic, virtual and/or in-person interviews of candidates, as needed.
    • Assist managers with reference checks, as needed.
    • Coordinate new hires, data changes and terminations with East Region Office and Ergon Payroll via ticketing system.
    • Conduct new hire orientation for new hires in assigned region.
    • Maintain regular follow-up with newer hires to assess needs and ensure successful acclimation into company culture.
    • Demonstrated experience in effective two-way communication with internal and external customers (oral, written, presentation).
    • Exceptional listening and empathy skills to engage closely with employees at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability prioritize tasks with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Must work with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
    • A strong continuous improvement mindset; with a desire to maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
    • Solid proficiency in the use of computers and office software (Microsoft Suite of Programs).
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or commensurate experience.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in HR competencies; particularly recruitment and employee engagement.
    • Experience working with SAP/SuccessFactors and Kronos Workforce Dimensions is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements

    • Able to stand, sit, stoop, bend or climb as necessary.
    • Able and willing to work outside in a variety of temperatures when on-site at company facilities, recruiting and company events.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
    • Must either possess or be able to get a TWIC card for visits to TWIC-required locations.
    • Able and willing to travel on a regular basis to Company terminals, conferences, trainings and so forth. Travel expectancy 25%.
