JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Implements classroom and simulator training in the area of Nuclear Power Plant Operations. Works with line personnel to understand and analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using a systematic approach to training.
- Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required for the position:
- Desired: B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree.
Minimum experience required for the position:
Operations Instructor:
- 5 years of front-line experience and technical proficiency in the area of instruction.
Senior Operations Instructor:
- 12+ years commercial nuclear plant experience (commercial or military).
- OR a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification.
- OR 3+ years of experience teaching or developing curriculum in an education or academic environment with a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.
- OR 3+ years of experience in nuclear training with a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.
Senior Staff Operations Instructor:
- 5+ years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the associated line organization.
- Desired: 3 years previously licensed as a BWR SRO.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
- Technical proficiency in the assigned area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
ANSI Required: No
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:
- Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification on BWR, PWR or both is required for the Senior Staff Instructor position.
- Licensed Operations instructors require an SRO license or certification.
