Job Summary/Purpose
Responsible for political issue resolution, use of customer accounting systems (i.e. CCS, ACS, BW) and other similar systems as appropriate to the job scope), and the communication plan of stakeholder interactions.
Reports to EML VP, Regulatory and Public Affairs – Responsible for coordinating EML’s stakeholder engagement activities that support the external-facing areas of governmental affairs, regulatory affairs, customer service, corporate social responsibility and economic development.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Plan and execute all external outreach activities with state, federal and local elected officials, economic development professionals, trade associations, interest groups and other key stakeholders
- Manage the OpCo’s ENPAC activities including member recruitment and retention events
- Create content and develop positive company messages to key influencers/stakeholders to ensure effective stakeholder outreach and maintain a positive company narrative
- Coordinate public affairs outreach campaigns with communications department and external advertising company (social media, Workplace, company-wide emails, direct targeting)
- Oversee and execute all OpCo’s “Power Lunches” in strategic areas throughout the service area
- Plan, manage and execute all OpCo events including those related to employee activities, stakeholder outreach and corporate philanthropy
- Participate in educational classes or conferences to ensure OpCo is current with the latest public affairs social media, marketing and advertising tactics
- Maintain accuracy and organization of OpCo Public Affairs stakeholder contact lists
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position
- 8 years within the Public Affairs environment
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Incumbents must have working knowledge of public affairs policies, products, and processes so as to efficiently and effectively investigate and resolve public affairs/governmental issues.
- Requires a working knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations governing utility service in various jurisdictions.
- Must be skilled in negotiations and be able to maintain professional posture and composure when dealing with difficult situations or customers.
- Strong skillset with Entergy's Microsoft Office toolkit for the purpose of producing accurate and concise reports, analyses, and presentations suitable for use with executives, regulators, and key constituents outside of the Company.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects with the ability to adequately assess and assign priorities ensuring that commitments and schedules are met.
- Demonstrated willingness to take ownership of assignments and issues, working to closure while facilitating and coordinated resources needed for proper resolution.
- Strong written and verbal skills are necessary to ensure that the Company is represented in the most professional manner with each engagement.
