Summary
The Director of Revenue Operations plays a crucial role in optimizing revenue generation processes, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the seamless alignment of sales, marketing, and finance efforts.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Revenue Optimization:
- Drives consistent attainment of revenue targets through collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Collaborates with leadership and sales teams to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Sales and Marketing Alignment:
- Works with the CTO and other key stakeholders, implement and manage marketing plans and strategies to ensure marketing efforts are targeted to key focus areas, customers and lines of business.
- Facilitates communication and collaboration between sales and marketing resources.
- Develops joint KPIs and performance metrics for both areas to ensure shared accountability for revenue goals.
- Supports marketing activities such as trade shows, seminars and events.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilizes advanced analytics tools to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into key revenue metrics.
- Identifies trends and patterns to inform strategic decision-making and adjust revenue strategies accordingly.
- Sales Enablement:
- Implements sales enablement technologies to streamline processes and empower the sales team.
- Develops and delivers training programs to ensure the sales team is equipped with the latest product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Collaborates with sales leadership to optimize sales territories and set realistic, achievable targets.
- Coordinates on-boarding and orientation for new sales team members.
- Keeps team informed on campaigns, sales promotions, training and processes.
- Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Works closely with key stakeholders to create accurate revenue forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales pipelines.
- Monitors performance against budgets and forecasts, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
- Conducts scenario analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities in revenue projections.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Fosters a culture of collaboration and open communication between departments.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities that span multiple business functions.
- Acts as a bridge between sales, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on overarching business objectives.
- Process Optimization:
- Conducts regular reviews of existing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Implements improvements and optimizations to enhance the overall efficiency of revenue-related workflows.
- Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of process enhancements.
- Technology Integration:
- Evaluates and recommend the adoption of new technologies and tools to enhance revenue operations.
- Oversees the use of CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms to create a cohesive and data-driven revenue ecosystem.
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Motivates direct reports to perform at a high level
- Helps coordinate internal processes for ISO compliance
- Manage and direct work associated with federal compliance matters
- Oversees management of C1 Gov GSA Schedule
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of successful revenue operations experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Marketing experience
- Experience with sales pipeline management tools, i.e. Salesforce
