This role serves as a trusted advisor to leaders across the business, providing hands-on HR guidance while driving functional excellence, cultural alignment, and continuous improvement across core HR practices.
Responsibilities:
What You Will Do
In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.
• Partner with the Chief People Officer to develop and execute forward-looking human resources strategies aligned to business objectives
• Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted business partner to leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
• Manage complex employee relations matters, including conducting objective, thorough, and confidential investigations
• Support and strengthen talent acquisition strategies, recruiting processes, and best practices in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Drive initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, and culture-building across the organization
• Monitor organizational health and employee sentiment, proactively identifying opportunities to improve engagement and experience
• Lead and influence change initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
• Identify, design, and implement innovative HR solutions and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
• Ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are applied consistently and with integrity across the organization
• Collaborate effectively with leaders at all levels to support business priorities and people outcomes
This role is a critical leadership position within the People organization, blending strategic influence with hands-on execution. From Director, Human Resources, you will help shape the employee experience across C Spire while serving as a key steward of culture, compliance, and organizational excellence.

In addition to that, we require:
• At least 7 years of progressive Human Resources generalist experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism
• Strong working knowledge of recruiting processes, employment laws, and HR best practices
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to partner with leaders at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
We will give special consideration to candidates who have:
• Experience working in a technology-oriented organization
• A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• SHRM or equivalent professional certification
• Demonstrated success driving HR process improvement and innovation initiatives
