It’s a challenging goal, but we have a winning team that is looking to grow.As Manager, MDU Operations, you will lead and execute all operational activities required to successfully deploy fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services within multi-dwelling unit (MDU) environments. This role owns the end-to-end operational lifecycle of MDU projects—from initial site qualification and engineering walkouts through construction, installation readiness, activation, and post-deployment performance—ensuring alignment across internal teams, external partners, and property stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
What You Will Do
In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.
Own end-to-end operational management of all MDU FTTH projects across assigned regions
Conduct and validate detailed site walks, ensuring accurate documentation and readiness for engineering and construction
Translate engineering and construction requirements into executable operational plans
Maintain detailed MDU project trackers including timelines, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for property owners, managers, and stakeholders
Provide proactive communication regarding construction activities, timelines, and service readiness
Coordinate recurring meetings with property stakeholders and ensure required agreements are collected and executed
Oversee contractor labor performing MDU construction and installations
Enforce operational standards related to quality, safety, and workmanship
Evaluate contractor productivity, adherence to timelines, and compliance with C Spire standards
Implement quality control programs and conduct onsite audits
Ensure compliance with NEC requirements, AHJ standards, and internal engineering specifications
Monitor and enforce safety compliance across all MDU job sites
Coordinate closely with Installation & Repair teams to ensure activation readiness
Develop and execute resident communication strategies to support successful installations
Track activation success rates and post-installation performance to reduce repeat service calls
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, FSM, Legal, Sales, and other stakeholders
Deliver clear, executive-level reporting on MDU progress, risks, and performance metrics
Develop and refine SOPs, playbooks, and operational frameworks to support scalable MDU deployment

In addition to that, we require:
5–7+ years of experience in telecommunications, fiber construction, or network operations
Proven experience leading complex, multi-layer operational or construction projects
Strong understanding of FTTH architecture and MDU fiber deployment models
Demonstrated ability to manage complex timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
We will give special consideration to candidates who have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Experience with ServiceNow FSM, iGlass, or similar operational platforms
Prior leadership of MDU deployment operations within an MSO or fiber provider
PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar project or process improvement certifications

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing a computer screen. This role also requires frequent site visits, coordination with field teams, and the ability to navigate active construction environments. Travel within assigned regions is expected.
