Responsibilities:

As the Manager, Fiber Operations, you will lead all aspects of fiber installation, with specific oversight responsibility for Residential, Small Business, and MDU installations and services. You will work collaboratively across internal departments — including OSP Engineering, Project Management, and Field Operations — to ensure that every installation is completed efficiently, safely, and with world-class customer service. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines technical knowledge, operational excellence, and a commitment to an exceptional customer experience.

What You Will Do

In all your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to managing every detail to perfection and delivering the desired results.

  • Coordinate and communicate with OSP Engineering, Project Supervisors, Field Operations, and other teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Lead and coach supervisors, field technicians, and contracted contractor crews.

  • Oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and staffing plans.

  • Conduct field audits to ensure safety and quality compliance.

  • Manage departmental CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability for all construction jobs.

  • Ensure full compliance with Field Operations, safety, and operational standards.

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of company assets, including vehicles, tools, proprietary software, and site databases.

  • Ensure high-quality customer installations (inside/outside premise, ONT, WiFi).

  • Conduct customer premise surveys, recommend equipment placement, process work order modifications, and manage scheduling impacts.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for installations, troubleshooting, and network equipment, including the use of OTDR, Light Meter, Light Source, and Multi-Meter, etc.

  • Identify and resolve issues related to damaged equipment, service lines, or inadequate job information.

  • Maintain strong cross-departmental communication to report project progress and escalate potential service delays.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, timeliness, and precision.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to ensure accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Track performance dashboards, KPIs, and operational results

  • Conduct regular contractor performance reviews.

  • Resolve escalations related to installation delays, outages, and service reliability.

  • Must be able to work after hours during outages or emergency events.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and company goals.

In addition to that, we require:

  • Minimum of five years of leadership or management experience leading multi-markets.

  • Demonstrated expertise in IPTV and fiber installation, splicing, and phone service.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple territories (regions) simultaneously with strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities to manage field teams and cross-functional partners.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of fiber installation methods and test equipment.

We will give special consideration to candidates who have:

  • Prior management experience leading field deployment or network construction teams.

  • Experience managing new and emerging markets.

  • Certifications or training related to fiber optics.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to sit for long periods and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing a computer screen. Must be available via phone 24/7 for emergencies and on-call situations. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required in an emergency environment. Regional travel is required, with occasional longer-distance travel. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable. Must be able to handle and move 50 lbs. or more, work on ladders for extended periods, and operate tools and equipment safely. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain, bend, crawl, and work outdoors for extended durations in varying weather conditions.
