Team Lead, Resource Management

The Resource Management Team Lead is responsible for overseeing workforce planning and resource allocation across the organization. Sitting within the HR function, this role works closely with business leaders to ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time. The Resource Management Lead supports capacity planning, staffing coordination, and internal mobility efforts, helping align talent with strategic priorities and operational demands.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead end-to-end resource planning processes across assigned business units or functions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to assess capacity, forecast needs, and proactively address staffing gaps.
  • Monitor utilization and headcount, providing recommendations to optimize talent deployment.
  • Manage resourcing data and reporting to support decision-making and workforce visibility.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular resourcing meetings with HR and business stakeholders to align on priorities, hiring plans, and internal mobility.
  • Support hiring prioritization and internal mobility by identifying and recommending resourcing opportunities.
  • Guide and develop a team of resource analysts, ensuring consistency, quality, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in resource planning tools, templates, processes, and reporting.

Staff Management

Responsible for ensuring area of responsibility has the talent and resources to meet short- and long-term organizational goals as well as ensuring maximum productivity and performance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively recruit, screen, and select candidates for current and future resource requirements.
  • Effectively orient new hires to ensure a positive and productive employee engagement experience.
  • Ensure structure and hiring plans (within budget) are appropriate for performance and productivity levels required.
  • Utilize the company’s performance management program as designed to align individual performance to overall performance objectives. Meet all completion requirements at a high quality level. Provide ongoing performance feedback. Identify and take appropriate action for non-performance.
  • Ensure each employee has a yearly performance review that is reviewed with employee and the review to be sent to Human Resources each year.
  • Ensure each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities. Keep job descriptions current for each position.
  • Actively support and participate in organizational development and training programs. Meet all completion requirements at a high quality level.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and performance.
  • Communicate all corporate matters in a positive and timely manner as directed by Corporate Communications or senior managements.
  • Administer all internal policies and procedures in accordance with corporate, human resources, budgetary, and finance guidelines. Ensure accuracy of staff data records.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in resource management, workforce planning, or capacity planning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and workforce or resource management systems.
  • Comfortable working with data and using it to inform decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday Workforce Planning module or a similar workforce planning platform.
  • Familiarity with workforce analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of broader HR processes and how they support business operations.
  • Experience with compiling, analyzing and capturing insights from data to support business decisions
  • Ability to multi-task and persevere in a fast-paced dynamic environment with a sense of urgency
  • Comfort in communicating at all levels of the organization and utilizing your skills to influence and drive decisions that produce high quality outcomes.
  • A self-starting and resourceful work ethic needing little to no guidance but with enough humility to know when to ask for help.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Environment/Physical Demands

Working Environment:

  • General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned office, with moderate noise levels.
  • Periods of stress may occur.

Physical Demands:

  • Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor.
  • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
