Amazon’s Shipping & Delivery Support (SDS) team develops and maintains support content for customer service associates, delivery drivers, and customers around the world. We are looking for a Translation Program Specialist to assist the delivery of high-quality translations for the global organization.
This individual will have the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to tight deadlines, and managing multiple projects at a time. The individual will be passionate about improving both the customer and content author experience. The individual will aggressively deliver on incremental projects and tactical work that contribute to a world-class localization function within Amazon Customer Service.
Key job responsibilities
• Receive daily translation/localization requests from internal team and stakeholders.
• Create and manage translation projects in the Amazon Translation Management System (ATMS) by outsourcing to vendors.
• Coordinate and communicate project delivery timelines based on project volumes, and translation/review process needs.
• Troubleshoot issues or questions regarding target audience, file type, and business requirements.
• Respond to linguistic queries from translation vendors. Request feedback from internal stakeholders and coordinate with vendors for implementation.
• Use project management methodology, including risk management; plan, scope, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard, ensuring they meet the requirements of the business.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend complex technical concepts and processes. They will have demonstrated project management experience, and the organizational discipline to track and manage work for several complex projects simultaneously. The candidate will have a proven ability to make quick decisions in ambiguous situations, a record of extraordinary attention to detail, and strengths in Dive Deep and Learn and Be Curious.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of experience in project management and localization.
• Excellent business communication skills
• Experience working in a global, cross-functional, multilingual team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven ability to learn new software, concepts, and processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Passion for intercultural communication.
• Proven organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently with little oversight.
• Ability to ask critical questions to comprehend customer needs and discover the root cause of issues.
• Fluency in one or more non-English languages.
• Comprehension of translation/localization industry processes.
• Knowledge of localization tools, translation management systems, and working knowledge of content management systems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $118,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
